Blake Henchcliffe, M.D.

Dr. Blake Henchcliffe is the founder of Texas Psychiatric Medicine, dedicated to providing professional, confidential, and personalized psychiatric care to adults in Amarillo and the greater Texas Panhandle.

A long-time Amarillo resident, Dr. Henchcliffe earned both his undergraduate degree and Master of Business Administration from West Texas A&M University before pursuing medical training. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas at Houston (McGovern Medical School) and completed his psychiatry residency at the Faillace Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the Texas Medical Center — the largest medical complex in the world.

During his extensive training in Houston, Dr. Henchcliffe gained valuable experience at leading institutions including MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, and the University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center, one of the nation’s largest academic psychiatric hospitals. He was honored as Chief Resident and received the prestigious Ann Saunders Award for Clinical Excellence.

Dr. Henchcliffe has been a pioneer in telepsychiatry, beginning his telehealth practice prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2022, he has played a key leadership role with Access TeleCare (formerly Forefront Behavioral Health), helping to develop and expand telepsychiatry programs across the full behavioral health care continuum — including emergency departments, inpatient psychiatric units, and outpatient settings. His work in telehealth has helped improve access to high-quality psychiatric care, reduce emergency department boarding times, and support underserved communities nationwide.

Currently serving as Vice Chief of Behavioral Health at Access TeleCare, Dr. Henchcliffe remains passionate about sharing his extensive experience and knowledge with his home community through Texas Psychiatric Medicine.

He is committed to partnering with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that promote healing and help them achieve their fullest potential.
